Hailing from Hershey, Pennsylvania-better known as Chocolate Town, USA-she's half African-American, with long, dark hair, smooth skin and natural breasts, all of which she describes as the perfect, melt-in-your-mouth combination. "I was born in North Dakota," she says. "My mom was in the military, so we moved around-I've lived in small towns in three different states." The family settled in Hershey, where Kaylia still lives today, working hard to make a name for herself as a fitness model, despite her family's insistence that she join the military, too. "I'm a small-town girl, but I have big dreams," she insists. "One day, I hope that everyone will know my name. She couldn't shake the idea of becoming a Playmate, so finally, she went for a test at Studio West. Boy, are we ever glad she did. "I'm shy, but once you get to know me, watch out," says Kaylia. "I come out of my shell and feel free to get a little weird and have some fun!" Kaylia's addictively goofy personality won over Hugh Hefner, who hand-picked her to become our Miss June. "A week before Christmas, I finally got the call," she remembers. "I couldn't have ever asked for a better gift!"Despite her larger-than-life ambitions, Kaylia's heart is where the home is-a self-described homebody, she loves nothing more than a night in with a glass of red, a movie and her charcoal Lab, Ryder, resting at her feet. "There's something very appealing and sexy about that," says Kaylia. "As a small-town girl, I'd rather be cute and comfortable than try to impress other people. And you know, Ryder's just like me-pretty, but easygoing." Now that she's a Playmate, Kaylia's ready for anything, but at the end of the day, she'll remain, naturally, herself. "It didn't even hit me that I was a Playmate until I walked into the store and bought my magazine," she sighs. "It's definitely my time to shine!"
